Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon on Feb 16, 2014

Running for expression

No longer is the individual uni-dimensional. Running is his expression of forbearance and a reflection of his conquering spirit.

The Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon (HTHM) annual event allows him to explore his multi-dimensional personality, helping create better individuals that in turn create better communities.

Running for charity

The 2014 HTHM to be held at Hiranandani Estate, Thane, under the aegis of Athletics Federation of India, has two categories – Half Marathon - 21.097 km and the Green Run - 7 km.

The race has twin objectives. Firstly the registration fee collected from participants is donated to a charitable institution doing social work. The amount collected through registrations during the last race was donated to Ruhi – an NGO associated with Tata Memorial Hospital who helps in treating cancer in children.

This year we are supporting Mumbai Mobile Creches – an NGO providing shelters to construction workers children at the construction sites and Jaipur foot (BMVSS), the world’s largest organization serving the disabled. This NGO provides all its assistance including artificial limbs, calipers and other aids and appliances totally free of charges.

The race also takes up a cause in the social sphere every year. This year we have chosen the cause of our national sport Hockey.

"After successful completion of Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon 2014, the team collected Rs. 24 lakhs through registrations after paying all the taxes . An amount of Rs. 12 lakhs was paid to our charity partner Mumbai Mobile Creches . Running for a cause

iRUN for Indian Hockey

Hockey as a sport has a glorious history for our country.

Our national game was once the raison d’etre of national pride. Hockey announced India’s presence on the world stage with victories at six successive Olympics. That’s a tally of 8 golds, 1 silver and 2 bronze.

But today, we have stopped playing hockey in our schools, colleges, neighborhoods, streets and playgrounds.
Supporting this cause our aim is to create how so ever small mind share and heart share for our national sport among people at large. This will encourage everyone to play our national sport in schools, colleges, neighborhoods, streets
It’s time you helped resurrect the glory of the game. Express your solidarity towards the cause of reviving Indian hockey; with your hands or chants, or with your feet at the Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon. The event is our initiative to connect Hockey to the participants through the Marathon.

Join us at the Hiranandani Thane Half Marathon on Feb 16, 2014.

Come, the finishing line awaits you to rekindle our historic pride.
